New York, New York

New York will always be a special place for me. I first travelled there two years ago with my brother and dad for my dad’s 50thbirthday. It was a crazy trip and I got such an overwhelming feeling of amazement and happiness whilst I was there. We stayed in a hotel right underneath the empire state and we travelled around on the subway stopping at a lot of the different areas around New York City. My favourite parts from that trip were that we got to see Wicked on Broadway and we flew over Manhattan and New Jersey in a helicopter- which I can safely say is one of the best moments of my life. The views were astonishing.
Recently, I got the opportunity to go back to New York with the media, film and art department at my college. It was a very interesting to see New York again after the recent election but I still had a fabulous time with some of the best people. The second time being there really allowed me to appreciate New York and embrace the lifestyle there. We went for five days and literally didn’t stop moving. We got to do some great things like going up the empire state, touring the NBC studio’s, shopping in times square and 5thavenue, visiting art galleries, seeing The Book Of Mormon on Broadway and even strolling around Brooklyn and walking across the Brooklyn Bridge.
If you have the opportunity to go to New York I would 110% recommend going there and exploring the city. The people are lovely and the sites are incredible. Exploring the ‘concrete jungle’ really is an experience that makes you wisps you off your feet and absorbs you in the busy city that never sleeps. I couldn’t live there permanently because it would take the novelty away but I could defiantly see myself living in Brooklyn because it’s beautiful like Manhattan but has a very relaxed environment.
Have you ever been to New York? Where would you recommend going?
