I took a radio workshop because I wanted to learn more about how radio presenters operate their shows and just generally a bit more about the radio industry.
I want to get involved in extracurricular activities in radio with a producer role like queuing the music and fading in and out of live radio to music or pre-recorded sound. I chose the producer role because I thought I would suit that role a bit better.
At this workshop we learnt more about the presenter role and I learnt how to start and stop recording, how to monitor the sound from the microphones to make sure the voices in the microphones are clear, how to interview on a live radio show and how to take calls from the phone on a live radio show. After this I think that I’d like to do a bit more practice as a presenter role and see how well I’d adapt to it.
I enjoyed the workshop and think it helped me understand the role of a presenter and it was useful learning the basics of how to work the equipment that the presenter uses.
